What is CPLA?

First of all, you should know what is PLA. PLA is the abbreviation of polylactic acid. It is made from corn starch, sugar cane or sugar beet. CPLA is a crystalline PLA with higher strength and can withstand higher temperatures. After heating, the PLA absorbs heat, and after the heat is released, the crystal becomes CPLA. The source of CPA raw materials is sufficient and renewable, the production process of polylactic acid is pollution-free, and the product can be biodegraded to realize the cycle in nature, so it is an ideal green polymer material.

However, the pure PLA material has the problems of heat resistance (deformation above 55°C) and insufficient flexibility. However, when the crystallinity reaches a certain level and the plastic crystal is larger than the wavelength of visible light, the heat resistance after crystallization is greatly improved and can be heat resistant above 80°C, it can be microwaved without distortion. So it is also the reason why tableware uses CPLA.
